Garrigues brings Andrés Crump on board to head the Corporate M&A area in Colombia

He has over 20 years’ experience in providing advice on capital investment transactions in Latin America

Garrigues brings Andrés Crump in as partner to its Bogotá office, for the Corporate M&A area. His appointment, which will be ratified at the next Garrigues Partners’ Meeting, will give a significant boost to the area.

With over 20 years’ experience, Crump is widely recognized for having provided advice on some of the most important transactions in Colombia (and in other countries such as Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru), focusing on the infrastructure and energy sectors in particular. His experience includes private transactions, privatization processes driven by the public sector and transactions in open markets, as well as acquisitions of shares and public offerings for an aggregate value in excess of USD 20 billion.

Crump has a Master’s Degree in Law, from Columbia University (New York), and a Master’s Degree in Finance from Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá), the university where he also obtained his law degree.

Prior to joining Garrigues, he pursued his professional career at several law firms. He also worked at Brookfield Asset Management for over ten years, where he held the position of Senior Vice President and provided advice on numerous transactions in the infrastructure and energy sectors in Latin America. He has been recognized in directories such as Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.

According to Jaime Iglesias, the partner in charge of the Garrigues Bogotá office, “Andrés Crump’s arrival is a very important step for the office and for the Corporate M&A department in Colombia in particular, which hopes to gain more weight and importance in the market”.
